January 1, 2014 The year 2013 was a composition of wins and losses. India saw various positive scenarios like rising of AAP, lowering of CAD, passing of the Lokpal Bill among many others. On the other side of the coin, the dollar value reached all time high, the number of rape cases increased, riots in Muzzaffarnagar shook India, inflation rate stood at a high. But amongst everything, there is still ‘Hope’.
Hope is high for 2014. People hope for a stable government after 2014 LS polls. People hope for a drastic change in Delhi with the advent of AAP coming into power. They expect the RBI governor Raghuram Rajan to tackle inflation in a more efficient way. In a recent survey by Economic Times, 78% of the participants hope that India will attract more FII’s in 2014. ALUMNI MEET OF 1987 BATCH
DAY TO REMEMBER…
UBS Alumni Meet (1987 batch) was a beautiful mesh of dreams and memories. However, while a lot has changed, for them, the warmth of the time spent here was still the same. This was one of the things that went on to the board under. The atmosphere was tempered with nostalgia. It was a pleasure to see people from the oldest batches trickling in and sharing in the laughter and easy conversation. For the graduating batch, it was an opportunity to gel with their predecessors, who had been there, done that, and had now moved on to newer horizons in their lives. It was no less a learning experience than attending a classroom session at. For the alumni, it was a day of catching up with peers and reminiscing about old times. The day was followed by an hour or two of introductions, felicitation, students interaction session in which students are getting experiences from their eyes. The event was a resounding success, with current batches already ecstatic at the thought of attending a similar gathering in the near future, as alumni. While it is true that nothing in life is perfect, but that evening came close to it and will remain memorable in the years to come.
